Michael Jackson Soundtrack : I Was Here

The first time I heard Beyonce's song "I was here" from her Rosedale tour, I was hooked. Not only was I moved by the words, her voice and the video (tears were falling down my cheeks and all), but I was also very inspired. Something clicked: All of us are on a mission to do something great with our lives while we are here on earth no matter our circumstances.  With hard work, dedication, determination we can all accomplish great things, become all that we can be, the best and full expression of our soul, connect with people and make a difference in people's lives, each in our own way. It takes a lot of courage, hard work and determination but we can all do it.

Then I was realized that all the people I admire are doing exactly that. And Michael Jackson came to my mind. He was such an incredible human being in my eyes and I wish I would have gotten the chance to meet him. I don't think people realize how much he gave of himself to the world and how much good he did during his time here on earth. But I think most will agree that he definitely accomplished what is being said Beyonce's song. So I decided to illustrate this with another life soundtrack featuring Michael Jackson. Scroll through the photo while the music is playing for a better experience :)

To Michael Jackson, thank you for all the love you put out into this world. Even though we never met, I wish I could have been a friend you can count on. I hope the love of all your fans and admirers around the world help make your pain a little more bearable and that you are truly happy now.

To Beyonce : Thank you for being such a great inspiration to so many, in so many ways. Thank you  for all the good energy you put out in the world. I wish you to always be surrounded by love and support from your friends and  family and to continue to shine and inspire many of us.

Kim and Kanye soundtrack : Knock You Down

For those following my favorite celebrity couples board on Pinterest, you probably already know that  Kim and Kanye are one of my favorites. I love seeing couples in love and they are just beaming. It makes me happy. I can't help but smile when I see their photos together. They both look so much happier than before now that Kanye is no longer on love on lockdown and Kim escaped a relationship that was heading for disaster before it even began.

Their love is so strong, it's sending positive vibes all over the internet. You can't help but smile when you see picture of the two of them together. It's infectious and it inspired me to create a little photo montage of their relationship thus far based on a song by Keri Hilson featuring Kanye West and Ne-yo called Knock You Down. I suggest you watch the photos while the music is playing.  You'll see what I mean.

First, here' the video to refresh your memory:

Now check out this little montage while the music plays.

You never know what the future holds, but I hope that they both found a soulmate, a best friend, a partner and a lover in each other for life. I feel like, if they play their cards right, together the can become a powerful force for good and a great example to many. The more love there is in the world the better off everyone will be. Already from their body language it seems like they are a team and they can  talk to each other, play with each other, support each other like a strong couple should.

I can only imagine, if they ever get married, how beautiful the ceremony would be: the kind of wedding that gets you all teary eyed during the vows. But since I most likely will not be invited to their wedding, I'm sending them my virtual blessings and good wishes in advance:

To Kim and Kanye, I wish you eternal love, peace and happiness. More than you can ever wish for or though was even possible.  I hope you find the support you need in each other to keep growing. I thank you for making me smile whenever I see pictures of the two of you happy together. - A life Apprentice

The Modern Day Romeo and Juliet Story

George Takei recently posted this video on his facebook page, and I could not stop crying, wondering how can people be so cruel? This is essentially a modern version of the Romeo and Juliet story: Two young souls who were lucky enough to find love. Unfortunately some family members didn't approve of their love.  Soon after, tragedy and unnecessary suffering ensued. Why? Because instead of Romeo and Juliet it was Shane and Tom.

Tom's family violently disapproved of their relationship, despite the fact that their own son was truly happy, as you can see in the video above. He had found a companion for life, a business partner, a friend, a soulmate. It's hard not to see their connection in the videos. But it seems like that was not enough for Tom's family because Shane essentially didn't have the right body type!

When Tom tragically passed away, Shane was left with nothing, no information on what happened to his partner, no rights to attend his funeral, nothing.  Despite the fact that they lived together for years, shared a mortgage, a business, a dog, they were considered roommates. And Tom's family didn't want Shane anywhere near. He never even had a chance to attend his soulmate's funeral. How heartless is that!? I was shocked. This is why gay marriage should be legal. No one should have to go through something like this. It's just not right.

It's unfortunate that so many people in this day and age forget the fact that we are all souls inside a human body and it's the soul that matters, not the type of vehicle that carries our soul.

It doesn't matter how "religious" or "holy" you think you are, if you have no compassion for a story like this you fail to understand the basic principles of life. You're still in spiritual pre-school. How else do you explain a father threatening his own son's life with a gun?

All you need is love.
You don't need to agree or even understand their relationship.
You just need to love and let love be.

So what can you do? Spread the word, open your hearts and listen to your own heart NOT random illogical external indoctrinations. Support equality, support love, support human rights and let's contribute to make this world of ours a better place.

For more on this matter you can check out Shane's facebook page http://www.facebook.com/EqualLoveEqualRights and also give him some love on his twitter page. I can't imagine how painful this must have been and probably still is. So I'm sure the extra love won't hurt. Good thing he had a loving family to support him and as a result he's doing great things that will most likely keep many from committing suicide. Thankfully Obama seems to be moving in the right direction. Hopefully America is ready to grow a little more.

If you ever read this post Shane, I would like to say thank you for being your true self despite the pain and suffering that comes with it. I wish and suspect great things will come to you as a result of this. There's no way putting so much positive energy and love won't come back tenfold to you. I wish you the best and I'm rooting for you :)

The power of music

I am a strong believer in the power of music and will always be grateful to musicians, whether it's my kind of music or not. They enhance people's life. Whatever state of mind you're in, there's a song to accompany you. The video below shows how powerful music is to an elderly man in a nursing home. He becomes alive. (Brought tears to my eyes) I hope this inspires musicians out there not to give up. If you have the gift, even if only a few people hear your songs, know that you are making a difference and probably will continue to do so long after you're gone. So...

to all the musicians that unknowingly make my life so much better, from the superstars to the ones in the corner of a street :
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

All haters are unrealized potential

People spending time hating on someone loose precious time making themselves better. We all have the potential to be great individuals if we follow our passion and our calling, if we're not afraid to work for it and if we don't give up.  I hope you enjoy this little gem from Joe Rogan and Bryan Callen. I certainly did. In fact I think it would be great for OWN to invite Joe Rogan to be participate in Master Class.

KONY 2012 - Let's do this! (EDIT: Maybe not)

EDIT
Apparently this video was not 100% honest so I'm not sure I don't really support this anymore. Not that I was planning to buy anything, I just wanted to spread the word. The good thing from this is that more people are aware of Uganda and the lesson is do a little more research first :)
-----------
Watch this video. It's about coming together to make the world a better place and stop senseless killing, abducting, traumatizing and raping of kids. All you need to do is watch and share with everyone you know. I'm doing my part.

Many celebrities have already embarked on this project. The more we talk about it and the more relevant this stays this year, the better chance these kids have to live a normal life.

Oprah wants you to see the best of yourself

Watch live streaming video from facebookguests at livestream.com

There's no question Oprah's a major virtual mentor for me. She's got so much wisdom and I always learn something new from her, specially with her latest projects (Life Class, Visionaries, Next Chapter and Master Class). If you're not tuning in, you're missing out on yourself.

Anyway, I wanted to share this hour-long video with you from Facebook. This time, Oprah's the interviewee, which you don't see too often. She's definitely creating quite a legacy and at the same time it's amazing to see that at the end of the day she's just a normal human being, just like you and me. Did you catch the end when she asks Sheryl if she did okay? I thought that was very cute.

Anyway, if you don't have time to listen to the whole thing right now, here are some of the quotes I took away from this interview, hopefully it inspires you too to be all that you can be. It's certainly helping me and I can already see some changes in my own life. Enjoy!

Good Karma for 2012

I've always considered the new year as an opportunity to start over and do better than the previous year. I tend to reflect on my accomplishments and experiences to see what I can learn from them in order to grow and become a better person every year. This year, my resolutions include spreading more good Karma around me in the hopes that it will be passed on a bit like in the video above. It could be anything from taking the time to saying Thank you to paying a stranger's meal.

Happy New Year to all of you who read this blog and wishing you lots of good Karma.
